About the Job
We are currently seeking a friendly full-time lab technician to join our busy OB/GYN practice. We are a well-established practice with 3 locations in the Hampton Roads area with 8 physicians, 2 physician assistants, 4 certified midwives, a nurse practitioner, and a full-time marriage and family therapist. We provide point-of-care in-house labs for our patients and perform lab draws/collections for send-out tests.
Testing consists of:
Testing consists of:
- Microscopic wet mounts and fern tests
- Dipstick urinalysis and manual microscopy
- Urine pregnancy tests
- Glucose and hemoglobin testing via finger-stick method and phlebotomy
- Phlebotomy for various send-out tests
Qualifications:
- EMR (AthenaNet) and OB/GYN experience
- Must be able to work independently and in a group setting
- Efficiency and close attention to detail
- Solid critical thinking skills
- Strong communication, both verbal and written
- Appropriate and efficient prioritization of tasks
- Customer service skills
Education:
- Completion of an associate's degree or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
License Required:
- ASCP or AMT certification
Monday - Friday. No weekends or nights. Certain holidays off.
